DESCRIPTION

The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) is responsible for the development and implementation of the German Resource Efficiency Programme (ProgRess) that has been adopted by the German government in February 2012. BMUB supports the “Resource Efficiency Network” in Germany and since 2009 also cooperates and supports the “Resource Efficiency Centre” established by the German Engineers’ Association (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure) (VDI ZRE) with a view to improving information and communication about opportunities for increasing resource efficiency in industry, especially in small and medium enterprises. VDI ZRE has also become an implementing partner in the PRESOURCE project.

BMUB AND RESOURCE EFFICIENCY

The unit involved in the project is specialized in transnational cooperation with Central European countries and responsible for the Twinning Programme of the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUB). The unit has already participated in seven INTERREG-projects, among them two in Central Europe.
